Everything you know about Economics is Wrong

Wednesday, March 21, 2007, 07:30 PM  | [Order tickets online]
Does economic theory rest on solid logical foundations?  Orthodox economics suggests the answer is a resounding “yes.”  Frank Ackerman presents a challenge to this received wisdom, by exploring fundamental flaws in the standard theories of general equilibrium, in conventional economic assumptions about consumer behavior, the role of money, and global trade and development.

Ackerman is Director of the Research and Policy Program in the Global Development and Environment Institute at Tufts University.

All lectures are held at 7:30pm in the First Congregational Church, 1126 SW Park Ave., Portland. Doors open at 6:30pm.  (Map)
